Cayenne Pepper? Really!!

Okay so follow up from my last post... the verdict is in - Cayenne Pepper RULES!

Here's what I did:

Step 1:
Gargled 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper with a medium sized glass of very warm water.

Step 2:
20 mins later:

mixed OJ and 1/8 tsp CP

Step 3:
20 mins later:

Repeat step 1.

I had to be in the car for about 4 hours on the way from St George and it was as if I never had a sore throat at all.

Word to the wise:
1. make sure you MIX the CP in the water.... or else you WILL INHALE IT and you WILL FALL OVER WITH FIRE IN YOUR THROAT. haha. I had to find that out the hard way.

2. Your throat MOST LIKELY will be very dry the next few days. Nothin some ice cream/cold water/Ricola drops wont fix.

SO I'm sold. They say if you feel a sore throat coming on, do the whole CP thing, it should prevent the sore throat all together.

**Just a side note, I really preferred the OJ mix the best.... you cant even taste the pepper. However... there's something about inflicting a little pain on your pain that's satisfying.....Does that make sense? 'Feels like I'm accomplishing something. :)

Hope you had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year. We spend ours with the Cooks! Love these guys. They are always my Guinea Pigs on my new recipes. (thanks kens, you're such a good sport!! I can't wait to learn your meatball recipe.)

Happy 2010! (How do you say it now? like oh' nine [2009]... do you say oh' ten? or twenty ten? that's not cool and short....)

Cayenne Pepper does rock! Another great method for coughs, sore throats, is:

1/8 to 1/4 tsp CP
1 tbs honey
1 clove pressed garlic

Mix that all up and eat it straight off the spoon and it works wonders. Clears everything up real quick. The garlic is a great antibiotic so if there is anything else coming on with the sore throat it takes care of that too.
