Waving goodbye standing in the Texas sun...

Okay, so life has been quite the adventure the last month or so. I'm still settling into our home here in Provo, so I haven't really gotten a chance to breathe let alone BLOG.

SO i figured i'd start segment at a time:

The last days in Texas...

FIRST: I'd like to give a shout out to Lance and his FAVVVVVVVVVVVVVORITE animal in the entire universe: LILLY!

Let me tell you, Lance and Lilly had a special little relationship, and this video can shed a little light on that:

(actually i cant figure out how to upload a video, so help??!)

Lance and I worked really hard this summer so we could try and have a solid foundation to start our lives with. I'm pretty proud of Lance (and proud of me for working in the Texas heat as much as I did. I never have been one to adore hard, physical labor. haha) because we did pretty well. Nothing awesome, but much better than when we started. Anyway, every now and then we tried to do fun things to escape the redundancy of this hard workin life. We loved it when CJ and Audrey spent time with us. We particularly loved jumping in the pool after a long day.... even though the pool usually was the same temperature as being outside...(thank you Texas humidity)... it was still fun to shake things up.

This is just me and lance being us... the one with my tongue sticking out is me emulating lance's infamous face he loooooves to make. I think i match up pretty well. (oh, and we'd gotten into a little marker war.)

So ALLLL summer (actually since Lance has known me) I've been griping about how I don't have a camera. For my birthday in July, Lance surprised me with this really awesome camera we'd heard about. It's this waterproof picture AND video camera! It can go i think 5 meters in water for up to an hour. SO COOL. Part of the reason we thought it was a good investment too was because we knew we were going to Hawaii and didn't want to have to baby our camera. (Which ended up being awesome, you know, with all the cliff jumping and snorkeling...) So here are a few of our first shots with the camera in the water.

About a week and a half before we left for Hawaii - Lance and I were going stir crazy. Actually moreso Lance, he reallllly needed something fun, adventurous and active... SOOOO we decided to go bungee jumping, skycoasting, and some other things- not really sure what they were called. One of them was this ball the stuck you in, pulled you hiiiigh into the air, and then it was like a sling-shot and shot us into the air, still connected to a bungee cord type thing, and ricocheted up and down a bunch of times. there was another one but i dont even know how to explain what it did. But it was fun.... and soooo needed. It was extra fun because Aud and CJ came with us, which i so loved!! I love my family, and have a special relationship with each member. CJ's and mine is so fun because we are so different, but we still totally get what each other is thinking and we laugh about the same things.... I love having him around (and miss him!!)

ummm however, bungee jumping was one of the scariest things i've ever done. First, they shackle your ankles up and strap a harness around yuo. You walk up 7 flights of stairs, and the shakles clank on the metal every step you take. Once you get to the top, they hook your ankles together and tell you to put your toes over the edge of the platform. They then yell 1-2-3 bungee! and you're supposed to go. UMM YEAH right. the ground looked SO close and doing something like that is SO unnatural and NOT OKAY. You know, i'm usually pretty tough with stuff like this... But as i put my toes over the edge, i just couldnt do it! The guy telling me to bungee said he hadn't had someone take this long to jump in a long time.. (okay rude) so finally i just closed my eyes and hollered the entire way down. I landed on a big pad, and they helped me off. As he was taking off my shackles from around my ankles, he said to me, "UHHHH did you loosen these?" excuse me WHAT? they were LOOSE?! okay not cool. The guy who asked me that was freaking out a little and started griping at the guy who put them on me. I mean seriously, could they not have talked about that behind closed doors? I could have gone my whole life with out knowing that, thank you. (Guess I didn't care too much because we went back a week later and did it again. hahah.)

Anyway, thats about it. More to come soon!
