Thank you Young MC for songs like "Bust a Move", Dexy's for "Come on Eileen", George Michael for "Faith", Frankie for "Relax"....and the likeness. Such great weird music, which makes for great nights....
Me, Virg, Ali, and a few other people went out to this place called Area 51 last night in Salt Lake City...It was quite the adventure. Me and Virg were expecting to drive ourselves, while there were two other cars carpooling up to tha cluuub, but as we were walking up her drive way, Chase, Zach and Ali stopped and Virg and I hopped in with them. I've only hung out with Chase once, and I had forgotten about how CRAZZZZY he is. First of all, Chase doesn't understand the concept of temperature, so either he had the windows rolled down (remember its 32 degrees out side) or the windows were fogged up from our body heat. AND he blared the music so loud it was impossible for any kind of conversation. HOWEVER it actually did make it a really fun car ride.
Once we got there and parked, we crossed two major streets illegally, walked past a homeless shelter, and all of us almost slipped on the patches of black ice on the way into the venue. On the way in these guys were leaving and cat called at us and said "Hey we're leaving if you wanna come with us and don't want to waste your time with the guys your with!" hahah we were like... WHAT? We walked inside, greeted with blacklights and a man at the front door in a trench coat and long greasy hair, and made our way up the stairs that felt like they were made out of plywood. As we entered the dance floor, it was literally US, two guys in construction outfits (i guess that meant 80's to them? Maybe it was the neon orange that made them think that was 80s...) and this couple who were....really in love i guess you could say.

Right away though we all got into the 80's groove. It was actually fun having the dance floor essentially to ourselves... We had such a good time! After being there for about 30 minutes, there was like a flood of people, and all of the sudden there was hardly any room to even move. And, because it wasn't QUITE hot or humid enough in the room of 200 people, they had a fog machine going. Brilliant. Me and Virg didn't really like standing still so we made a couple of rounds around the dance floor just sayin hi to random people and dancing like we were in a work out video. Actually Virg really was dancing like that. Her and Ali I guess have been working out to a Jane Fonda work out video (hahha!) and they did the moves for me, which really did fit in with everything going on around us. I tried to video tape it but it was too dark, but was sooo funny.
I don't even have to say it, because this picture really says it - but Virginia is SUCH a good 80's dancer. Like, really, let's be honest. There was nothing glamorous, or hot, or graceful, or logical, or flattering about the 80's. SOMEHOW Virginia made 80's dancing look so freaking cute.
SOOO about 2 hours in, after our dance moves were all used up, me and Virginia got a bottle of water for free somehow (wooo!), and sniped a seat on the big (p)leather(?) couches, to wait for our friends to find us when they were exhausted too. Our faces were sweaty and our energy level was dead. We made a couple of fun little friends while sitting there, and we people watched. There were SO many funny, interesting people there. Chase and Zach finally found their way to us, and when they said the magic words they were ready to go, Virg popped up and ran away to find Ali. ha ha the girl did NOT even hesitate. SOOOO that was the end of our night. It was really so much fun. HAYYY!
